Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated · applies to blog.riskira.com

Some links on Riskira are affiliate links. This page explains what that means and how it affects — and does not affect — what we write.

When we link to a book, a tool or a service, the link sometimes carries a code that tells the seller the visit came from us. If you buy, we may receive a small commission. You pay the same price either way.

Where they appear

Affiliate links appear mainly in source lists and in references to books. They never appear in article bodies as recommendations we would not otherwise make.

How we mark them

Affiliate links are marked with a small indicator on hover and with rel="sponsored" in the page markup, so that both readers and search engines can tell them apart from ordinary links.

What does not change

  • We link to the same sources whether or not an affiliate programme exists for them.
  • We do not choose which products to discuss based on commission.
  • Negative findings about a product are published regardless of any affiliate relationship, and the link stays in place.

Scale

Affiliate income is a small fraction of the revenue of Riskira, and we publish the proportion annually in the newsletter.

Questions

If you are unsure whether a particular link is an affiliate link, ask us through the contact page and we will tell you.
